Jim and Lucy first met in 2018, when Lucy joined the Development team on National Geographic's popular series Drain the Oceans. Jim was the Series Advisor and featured in many episodes and alongside a brilliant team of creatives, they helped shape the show through seasons 2 to 5.

When National Geographic wrapped the series in 2023, Jim returned to his global work with SEARCH Inc., and Lucy moved on to new documentary adventures. But in 2025, a shared idea pulled them back together: a podcast that brought Jim’s world to the surface.

A devoted history podcast addict, Lucy couldn’t shake the sense that the world was missing out on Jim’s incredible stories - the ones she used to hear on long calls about Titanic dives, Spanish treasure wrecks, and WW2 warships rediscovered in the deepest ocean. Listening to Jim talk about the past was like being transported straight into an expedition.
